Shoulder-injured Turner Kershaw gives up 1 run in 5 innings in first start in 44 days
By Kim Hee-jun = Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, 35, pitched well in his return from a shoulder injury.
Kershaw started the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series game against the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, U.S., on Monday (Nov. 11) and pitched five innings of three-hit ball, allowing one run on one hit. He struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.
It had been 44 days since Kershaw had taken the mound in the big leagues since June 28 against Colorado.
After struggling with a series of injuries in 2019, Kershaw bounced back perfectly in the first half of the year. In 16 games, he went 10-4 with a 2.55 ERA.
However, on June 28 against Colorado, he was placed on the disabled list (IL) with shoulder soreness, and after rehabbing for over a month, he returned today.
Kershaw threw 67 pitches, mixing fastballs (26), sliders (27), curves (11), and changeups (3).
Kershaw walked Ryan McMahon with two outs in the top of the first, but got Elias Diaz to ground out to shortstop.
After getting Nolan Jones to strike out swinging and Alan Trejo to double in the top of the second, Kershaw retired the next two batters to end the inning.
In the third, he gave up a single to Jurickson Profar with one out, but induced a flyout to Ezequiel Torvar to end the inning.
Kershaw got out of the fourth inning with a triple play, and in the top of the fifth, he got Trejo and Michael Toglia both on infield grounders.
But he gave up a solo home run to left-center field to Eleuris Montero to give Colorado the lead.바카라사이트

Kershaw was relieved by Ryan Yarbrough in the top of the sixth with the Dodgers trailing 1-0.
The Dodgers tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on a Max Muncy solo home run to right field, then added a run in the bottom of the eighth on a passed ball to take a 2-1 lead.
Kershaw, who was facing a loss, did not record a decision as his team came from behind to win.
