Choi Ji-hoon out with knee discomfort…Kim Sung-hyun with ‘gall bladder’ to start
Substituted on defense in the eighth inning of Game 24 at NC
Park Yoon-seo = SSG Landers made a change to their lineup. Choi Ji-hoon, who felt discomfort in his knee, was removed from the starting lineup.
SSG will play an away game against the Doosan Bears of the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at Jamsil Stadium on the 25th. It’s a crucial game for the Bears, who could take over second place depending on the outcome.
SSG adjusted its batting order. The lineup consists of Choo Shin-soo (designated hitter), Park Sung-han (shortstop), Choi Jeong (third baseman), Choi Joo-hwan (second baseman), Kim Kang-min (center fielder), Han Yu-seom (right fielder), Ha Jae-hoon (left fielder), Jeon Jeonsan (first baseman), and Cho Hyung-woo (catcher). Starting on the mound was ace Kim Kwang-hyun.
Park Sung-hyun moved up to the second spot, and Kim Kang-min joined him in the center of the batting order as the No. 5 hitter. There was no mention of Choi Ji-hoon, who had a three-hit, two-RBI blast the day before. Choi Ji-hoon pinch-hit in the seventh inning, but was replaced by Kim Kang-min in the eighth inning.
“Yesterday, (Choi) Ji-hoon had a slight knee injury while running the bases, so he was left out, and (Kim) Sung-hyun had gallbladder symptoms, so he was left out yesterday, but he’s fine today,” SSG coach Kim Won-hyung told reporters before the game.
Second baseman Guillermo Heredia and outfielder Oh Tae-gon are expected to return next week to bolster the offense.
The previous day, SSG won 7-4 against the Incheon NC Dinos to close the gap on second-place KT Wiz to 0.5 games.
Reflecting on the game, Kim said, “Lee Jae-hak did a lot of good things against us. “I didn’t expect him to score four runs in the first inning. (Choo) Shin-soo and Ji-hoon hit hard, and I think we tied it up with a wild pitch, and then we got a little bit loose. (Choi) Jung-i is also weak against Lee Jae-hak, but he hit a home run early on.”메이저사이트
Starting pitcher Kirk McCarty gave up four runs but went 7 1/3 innings to pick up his eighth win of the season. “He gave up four runs yesterday, but he still pitched great. We had a good balance at the plate,” Kim said.
