‘If only we weren’t in last place right now~’ Hanwha’s sub-par batting lineup beats even leader LG

‘Undisputed No. 1’ LG gets swept by last-place Hanwha for the second straight day.

Hanwha’s bottom of the order pounded LG’s veteran Im Chan-kyu. After an eight-game losing streak, Hanwha’s two-game winning streak gave them their third sweep of the series in the second half.

LG started well. In the top of the first inning, leadoff hitter Hong Chang-ki and No. 3 hitter Kim Hyun-soo singled against Hanwha starter Moon Dong-joo.

Moon Bo-kyung followed with a single to right to lead off the inning.

In the second inning, the Hanwha bats came out on fire. Kim Tae-yeon led off with a single to right, and Choi In-ho tied the game with a triple to right-center.

The comeback run came with a little luck. With the bases loaded, Jang Jin-hyuk hit a grounder to first base, and Austin dropped the ball. Choi In-ho, who was at third base, came home with the winning run to make it 2-1.

With the bases loaded, Hanwha’s Choi Jae-hoon laid down a sacrifice bunt that sent Jang Jin-hyuk to second base. Lee Do-yoon followed with an RBI double to make it 3-1.

With runners on first and second after Jung Eun-won’s walk, Noh Si-hwan hit a two-run double to center field, making the score 5-1. It was a revolt from the bottom of the order that took the wind out of starter Im Chan-kyu’s sails.

It was the moment when the game was virtually decided.

LG tried to fight back in the bottom of the second inning. In the second inning, Hong Chang-ki, Shin Min-jae, and Kim Hyun-soo hit consecutive singles to pull within one run.

However, their concentration was not enough. In the bottom of the third, with runners on first and second, Park Hae-min struck out swinging. In the bottom of the fourth, Austin flied out to center field with two outs.

In the bottom of the fifth, Oh Ji-hwan hit a solo home run to cut the deficit to two runs, but that was it. Moon Dong-ju came off the mound with runners on first and second in the bottom of the fifth and retired Kim Bum-soo (1⅔ innings), Joo Hyun-sang (2 innings), and Park Sang-won (1 inning) to preserve the win.메이저사이트

LG, which had a team-high 14 hits with all of its starters hitting, had a five-hit advantage over Hanwha, but it was concentration that proved to be the difference in the game.
