LG outfield prospect Kim Bum-seok hits first career home run in season finale
LG Twins rookie outfielder Kim Bum-seok hit his first career home run.
Down 0-4 in the bottom of the second inning against the Lotte Giants at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Sept. 9, Kim batted leadoff and drew a one-run walk-off home run from Lotte starter Shim Jae-min.캡틴토토
On a full count, Kim took a curveball from Shim and smashed it over the left-field fence at Jamsil Stadium with a smooth swing. It was Kim’s first home run in six games and his 16th at-bat in the first team.
Kim Bum-seok, who graduated from Gyeongnam High School and joined LG as a first-round rookie this season, is a long-hitting and flexible player. Due to injuries, he has been playing first base this year instead of his usual position, but LG plans to develop him into a starting catcher in the future.
The home run was another step in his development. After a difficult first home run, his bat is expected to swing even harder.
