Right-handed pitcher Ryan Weiss, 27, is headed to Taiwan.

The High Point Rockers of the American Independent League announced via the team’s social media (social media) rules on Friday that Weiss has signed with the Fubang Guardians of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). According to CPBL STATS, a Taiwanese baseball news site, Fubang now has five foreign players on its roster in Anderson Franco, Tanner Anderson, Matthew Kent, and Steven Woods Jr. Franco is a right-handed hard-throwing pitcher who played for the Lotte Giants in the KBO in 2021.

Weiss boasts a solid physique (1.93 meters tall and 95 kilograms). He was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fourth round, 129th overall, in the 2018 First-Year Player Draft. He was signed for $400,000 ($520,000). He left Arizona for the Kansas City Royals after being claimed off waivers last July. In his five-year minor league career, he has a 17-14 record with one save and a 4.88 ERA. He has yet to play in the big leagues, spending this season at Triple-A Kansas City before moving to the independent leagues in June. His record in the independent league was 5-3 with a 4.61 ERA.바카라사이트

A native of South Elgin, Illinois, Weiss grew up as a Chicago Cubs fan. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father committed suicide when Weiss was 14, according to local media. His mother also passed away from a heart attack in January 2018, much to the chagrin of his family.
