“He’s out. Get in.”

Samsung’s Koo Ja-rook smiled and waved at Doosan’s Yang Suk-hwan as he prepared to bat. Yang looked confidently at the umpire, who was reading the video replay, before taking a practice hit and preparing to step into the batter’s box.

The scene took place during the game between the Samsung Lions and the Doosan Bears of the Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League 2023 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on 8 August. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Doosan second baseman Jung Soo-bin stole second base on a short hit by Rojas, but Rojas overran and was caught in a rundown, allowing Jung to rush home. After sliding home on a head-first slide, Jeong was frustrated with the out call and asked for a video review. It was a close call that was hard to tell with the naked eye whether it was out or safe.

The video review took longer than expected, and even with the slow screen on the big board, it could have been an out or a save depending on the angle of view. But Yang looked confident. He stepped up to the plate, swung and prepared to hit. Koo Ja-rook and Ryu Ji-hyeok gestured for him to go in, saying, “He’s out,” but he stayed at bat. The call was upheld and he was out.

Jung Soo-bin was disappointed but accepted the video review and went to the dugout, but Yang Suk-hwan had a different story. He stood at the plate and looked at the umpire in disbelief. Even though it wasn’t his situation, he looked more disappointed than the umpire.

Yang is a very competitive player. As a professional athlete, everyone hates to lose, but Yang often shows more desperation. He wants to get one more at-bat, and even if he is injured, he wants to play as much as possible. His pride as a centre fielder is also strong, and he often shows his ability to solve problems in close games. Because of his aggressive personality, he sometimes gets into nervous battles with opposing players and misunderstandings, but after the game, he smiles and remains friendly.메이저사이트

Yang, who will be eligible for free agency after this season, currently leads the team in home runs and RBIs. He is an indispensable part of the Doosan batting order. Many experts are already calling him the biggest free agent signing of the year. If he keeps up his current form until the end of the season, he will likely have a warm winter.
